An updated and reworked version of Your Voice Travels
was broadcast on Resonance FM in January 2012 to accompany an exhibition
(with the same title) at Home
Front, an artist run space in a Victorian terraced house in Herne
Hill. This domestic setting housed a desk, a chair, a series of audio
and voice works presented through speakers, radio, tape player, dictaphone,
telephone, creating a vacant set for an absent actor, or museum display,
or reconstruction, or residue of action. These two environments, a
temporal and ephemeral broadcast, a physical and spacial installation,
function as sibling works, elaborating upon each other and expanding
the field of the voice, its meaning and function, and its relationship
to itself.
